Hrrishu's Story - The Power of Words
Life itself has always been a roller coaster ride for me, but every fall has helped me understand something new about myself and aided in my improvement, making me a better individual. However, sometimes when we experience failure, we fail to recognize this philosophy, and we tend to lose hope and take our descent very seriously. This, in the long run, may affect our mental well-being and overall personality development.
I went through a similar experience during my college days. I was in my first year of college, studying B.Com. I aimed to complete my graduation and get an MBA degree, just like my other friends intended, and join my mom's business. Nevertheless, I didn't acknowledge that I was just following this path because I saw everybody else doing it. What I needed was to figure out what works for me and what makes me happy.
After taking my B.Com examination, I received backlogs in a few subjects, and I was devastated. That was the moment when I took some time off and tried to figure out what was going wrong. During the toughest time in my life when I needed support and strength, I discovered the beauty of the Gratitude app and its impact. I started practicing gratitude every day.
Writing down gratitude made me realize that despite one failure, there were so many things in life to be grateful for. I understood the importance of appreciating the little things. I uncovered that I was always inclined toward art and fashion, and I continued to pursue formal education in the same field. I truly enjoyed what I was doing, and I graduated with flying colors in the same field. I regained my lost hope and spirit with the help of my gratitude practices.
I think sometimes all we need is a shift in perspective on how we look at life. Once we start looking at life through the lens of gratitude, there is nothing that we cannot achieve.
