R's story - Life-Changing Experience
My gratitude journey started a couple of months ago when I lost my job. Was talking to a friend and she suggested a couple of apps to explore. I downloaded the Gratitude app after looking, exploring others, and going over reviews!
And that was a game-changer. I went through the app to understand it better and set up reminders every day to spend five minutes before going to bed on being grateful for what I have in my life.
I am not going to lie, when I started I had to think hard about what to write and where to begin. But after a couple of days, my mindset changed and I was a happy person.
One thing I would like to share is no matter what challenges you are going through in life- there is always something you can be grateful for. It's all about mindset.
I read somewhere it takes 21 days for a mindset to change if you consistently work on training your mind to focus on positive things around you which later on becomes a habit.
Trust me, it works and you will see the difference yourself. Last but not the least, I feel like gratitude is a practice and if you do it regularly - just spend five minutes every day preferably before bed, it will change the world around you. Below is my routine that has helped me in having a positive mindset and have an attitude of gratitude: -
- Absolutely, spend five to ten minutes every day to focus on what went well that particular day. For me personally, writing it down or using an app for it works the best. But as long as you have your mind focus on good things (even if you are just thinking) works perfectly fine.
- Another thing that has worked for me is affirmations. The best way to write your own affirmations is to believe you are already doing it. For example, let's say, you are trying to be more confident in whatever you do or planning to achieve- in this case, you can create something like “ I am confident”. The point is to believe that that thing is already there rather than using words like “I will be “ or “I can”.
Wish you all the best in your gratitude journey or whatever positive changes you are trying to focus on in your life and sending the readers all my love. Thank you for reading :)
